procedures

EUS

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is a procedure that allows a doctor to obtain images and information about the digestive tract and the surrounding tissue and organs, including the lungs. Ultrasound testing uses sound waves to make a picture of internal organs.

GI Tract Stenting

The application of stents in the GI tract has expanded tremendously. Stent placement is the most frequently used treatment modality for palliating dysphagia from esophageal or gastric cardia cancer.  Read more about GI Tract Stenting procedures here.

Obesity Related Treatments

The most common weight loss procedures I perform come under Bariatric Endoscopy.  Among them, two of the most frequently performed Bariatric Endoscopic procedures are: 1. Endoscopic Sleeve Gastoplasty(ESG) and 2. Gastric outlet Reduction.

ESG

The Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) procedure is designed for patients who are not morbidly obese, but are also not able to undergo bariatric(weight loss) surgery.  Read more about the ESD procedure here.

Gastric Outlet Reduction

Gastric Outlet Reduction is a minimally invasive procedure that can help patients who regain weight after gastric bypass surgery.  Read more about the Gastric Outlet Reduction procedure here.

Endoscopic Surgery for Acid Reflux(GERD)

TIF(Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication) is a minimally invasive treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) that is performed in the outpatient setting. The TIF procedure is performed from inside the patient's stomach without incisions.

Following are the specialized procedures I perform for removal of precancerous/cancerous tumors, obesity treatment, and acid reflux.  See the general procedures here.

Precancer and Cancer Related Treatments

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a procedure that combines upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy and x-rays to treat problems of the bile and pancreatic ducts.  Read more about the various ERCP I perform here

Endoscopic Ampullectomy

Endoscopic Ampullectomy is a minimally invasive method of treating superficial lesions of the Ampulla of Vater. With careful patient selection and lesion assessment it is a safe and efficacious therapeutic procedure that can obviate the need for potentially major surgical intervention.

Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD)

ESD is a specialized technique to dissect the submucosa of the GI tract to remove precancerous and cancerous tumors.  Read more about the ESD procedure here.

Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)

EMR is a method for removing cancerous or precancerous lesions in the digestive tract without the need for an abdominal incision or the removal of a section of the intestines.  Read more about the EMR procedure here.
